If you are using this controller as a spare then I think its great alternative than spending 50 bucks on a new ps3 controller. Ive been using it to play Street Fighter IV and UFC with no issues.

However be aware with any of these controllers are a “hack” in someway and do guarantee functionality on all games. Good luck

This worked fine for official Sony ps2 controllers to get them to work on ps3. I tried it with my ps2 wired guitar controller (the original red one) – the ps3 recognized a controller as plugged in, but not a guitar, and hence it didn’t work. Was trying this on Guitar Hero World Tour, and Rock Band 2 for PS3. Oh well. If anyone has found something that makes the original ps2 guitar work on ps3 please let me know – those old ps2 guitars are simply the best.

I have the 160GB PS3 — the one that doesn’t play PS2 games, which I didn’t realize until I bought it.

Anyway, I used this adapter to connect a PS2 controller and it works great. The PS2 controller I tried was one of the Sony ones. I haven’t tried a third-party controller.

I have tried this on several ps2 controllers and it does not work. Kind of sucks because I own 8 ps2 controllers.
